How to getting around Pattaya by Taxi

Metered taxis are available in and around Pattaya.
However, some drivers refuse to use their meters.
It is advisable to haggle over the fare before setting off.

How to getting around Pattaya by Songthaew (pickup trucks converted into buses)

Dark blue coloured “Songthaews”, pickup trucks converted into buses, are popular among locals and tourists when moving around Pattaya, Na Kluea and Jomtien.

Also known as “ Baht Buses”. Songthaews are equipped with buzzers in the rear section for passengers to press as a signal to stop when they want to get off.

When getting off, Passengers pay the flat rate 10- baht fare. If the distance traveled exceeds the 10-baht limit, the driver will ask for an additional charge. Visitors who arrive with friends can hire an empty songthaew to convey them all to their destination. It is faster but more expensive.
(FYI: Pattaya has no Tuk Tuk or motor tricycles available.)
Visitors must make sure they are on the right side of the street when waving down a songthaew to get them to their destination.

It’s best to ask the driver about the route.

How to getting around Pattaya by Motorbike Taxi

Taking a motorbike taxi is quicker but less safe than a songthaew.
Fares vary from around 30 baht to 60 baht, depending on how far passengers on every street corner in Pattaya.
